The Stewards’ work bee on Saturday, June 22nd, had good weather, albeit rather humid and hot into mid day.  Tasks completed included:

    - placement of topsoil around the building for enhanced grade and drainage.
    - placement of compost chips around and along the rows of lilies
    - cleaning of eavestroughs and downspouts
    - complete purge of unused items under the stage area, then vacuumed and then all trucked to
            the transfer station
    - vacuuming of the furnace room and narthex basement - spider eradication about to be done.
    - trimming of spruce trees to eye level with branches soon to be trucked away
    - trimming of the maple trees near the night light pole
    - pulling of three shrubs and trucked away and now soon to be replaced
    - trimming of the remaining shrubs still to be completed
    - scraping and painting of the west end gable end still be completed

Thanks to members who offered the services of a tractor and front end loader, two trucks and self-propelled lift basket, a power vac and a number of small tools. Thanks go to Jayne Park, Jane Jenner and Carolyn Fraser for prepared food and drink for a mid-morning break and then lunch.

Participants included: Mike Houston, Kennon Lawton, Tim Warner, Greg Cowan, Cheryl Ross, Matthew Jenner, Ian Lawton, Tyler Warner, Bill Park, Bob Kerr, Chuck Scott and Barry Fraser.

Thanks to all from the Board of Stewards and its supporters who collectively work to keep St. Paul's United Church appearing as if it is 'open for business'.  In fact, it is - just as we were about to leave two vehicles from Michigan arrived with 11 people 'looking for a washroom'!   Both families were on their way to Niagara Falls for the first time as they had just recently emigrated  from India!
